A long time goal of our committee has been to build a bridge over the small stream that crosses the trail, just north of Windsor Street. Over 20 years ago, some Eagle scouts undertook this project and did a superb job - only to see it destroyed by vandals just days after it had been built.

We had hoped to complete this in 2007 but this project really required us to improve and stabilize the culvert on Windsor Street first.

This time we constructed the bridge out of steel rather than wood.

This was a big project for our small group but represents a significant improvement to the trail. In the past, whenever there was any substantial amount of rainfall or at any time during the Spring runoff, the trail was just about impassable. The new bridge now allows for easy passage at this point of the trail.

Here are some pictures that document this good work.
